Welcome to the Smiling Crafter. I am Lorraine Montgomery, a long-time crafter/creator and author and illustrator of The Smiling Crafter and owner of the Smiling Crafter Shop. Ever since I can remember I have always thought creatively and had a passion for crafting and creating. I have come to realize my passion is sharing my ideas and teaching what I know. The enjoyment of making projects and teaching others has empowered me. I have grown to be confident and understand how important self-expression is. Crafting is about having fun, relieving stress, socializing with others, and enjoying yourself while doing it.

 

I am very enthusiastic about mediums like paper and fabric with lots of color, prints and texture. I am a huge admirer of flowers and express their beauty through many of my projects. One of my most important goals in crafting is to make someone smile. I have claimed "make someone smile" as my motto. If I can make someone smile by teaching them a few crafts, get them excited and have fun, then I have done my job.

 

I created the Smiling Crafter Shop to share my book and projects and inspire you to craft. The crafting projects can be constructed for one project to intertwine with another. My hope is for you to get encourage to craft and to build upon project to project and unleash your inner creativity.
